With the creation of the world, nature’s indomitable force was made corporeal into all aspects of its plurifaceted heart. The magnificent beasts lived scattered across the lands, each within its niche. But with time, as people moved inwards and conquered with the tool of their greed the spaces that were once verdant and vanquished life as they saw fit, it coalesced into existence a new aspect. One of animalistic ire and revenge, one of unfathomable hunger, one that sought to ravage, to mangle and unmake the bipedal encroachers, to lay waste to their flesh, and in its rot, fertilize back to life that which they had destroyed.
The legend grew. Folk dared not to go alone into the deep green moss-filled canopy where that whom they have come to call, GRIZZLES, roamed. Its growl, heard as a low rumble throughout the forests, specially during the darkest nights; a reminder, a threat, a menace to them and all of which they called “progress”.
But this beast didn’t distinguish between pawn and prince. The claws slashed open spilling them guts with equal blood-crazed pleasure for the meager farmhands as it did for the occasional interloping baron on its way to another town or a far placed manor. It acted only on one command, on nature’s heart primal reaction to pain, suffering and sickness: a most violent removal of the infecting agent. A return to equilibrium, but one done through gory justice, beastly predation and wild terror. And so, from legend to myth, to law of the land, GRIZZLES! The Menace, came to be human’s most terrible un-hunted unmaker.
O.a.k (One-of-a-kind):
This line of instruments acts as my space for study and unbounded creativity. It is the continuation of my original non-serialized work, meaning, a cymbal line where anything goes.
It will most likely also act as the breeding grounds for any forthcoming new lines and designs as time moves forward, so keep your eyes open, one of these could one day become a regular act.
