I Love Michael Stevens. I was raised in a world of burgeoning screens. They informed me and showed me things I wouldn’t have otherwise known. I grew up while hearing how awful they may be and how much of an dimwit one becomes the more one feeds from it. I disagreed. I disagree. The world did so as well, for their own disgustingly rabid reasons, but it disagreed nonetheless and screens took over. But now the screens have morphed and what’s in them, who’s in them, and how any of those got to be in them has radically shifted. And god fucking dammit, we as a people should be grateful it did. Cause surely it gave us and showed us the most rotten aspects of who we are, all mirrors do so. It also exploited how much we crave the numbing sound of human white noise. And oh! we do. But it allowed for a voice like his to break through that cesspool and gain traction against all odds in a medium that did not reward that.
Is it him out of all of them that I love the most? I am not sure I know what art is. And surely if I were to mingle with those pretending to know I would have been shoved aside as lesser. I am on the unpopular side of those who think a PM fucking the pig on national TV was more artful than anything done prior. So maybe I’m not to be listened, maybe you should stop reading. But if ever a screen was a medium for a unique form of free flowing art involving a creative scientific and philosophic exploration represented as the seemingly random firing of neural activation, it never mas more of it than when Michael was in charge. You know, I’ve never felt like I was observing or digesting art when I visiting museums or monuments, sometimes theater and such had the same effect: disjointedness, apathy, distance. An artful experience is one that I find rare in today’s world. Music has been there to save me from an otherwise dull passage. But when I consume what Michael creates, I feel like I am going through an actual artful experience, one that I don’t know others can recreate. A special man nonpareil this friggin’ Michael is, as it is in thought that I find the effigy of myself.
Thought was the space I built that made my shape different from those around me, that made it special. And in thought, he, Michael, is to me an example, a luminary and a mystery. One that makes himself available and closer to all of us by the light of a screen. I Love Michael Stevens.

O.a.k (One-of-a-kind):

This line of instruments acts as my space for study and unbounded creativity. It is the continuation of my original non-serialized work, meaning, a cymbal line where anything goes.

It will most likely also act as the breeding grounds for any forthcoming new lines and designs as time moves forward, so keep your eyes open, one of these could one day become a regular act.
